Compulsory Gear
Magoebas Ultra requires runners to carry all the Compulsory Gear for the entire race, no matter which distance entered. The weather can change drastically during the day as the trails take runners into rain forests and mountainous terrain. This list is seen as a set of 'mandatory minimums'.
Please add to this list according to your needs.
NOTE: If any Compulsory Gear is not on your person during the race or at the finish, time penalties ranging from 15-30 minutes per item will be imposed.
MAGOEBAS 100KM
M100 Compulsory Gear
The M100 is a gruelling 100KM ultra through the Magoebas forest and mountains. The following gear must be carried at all times during the race:
✦ Hydration pack (min 1.5L capacity)
✦ Emergency blanket / space blanket
✦ Headlamp with spare batteries
✦ Spare headlamp / backup light
✦ Rain jacket (waterproof)
✦ Thermal top / long sleeve
✦ Whistle
✦ Cellphone (fully charged)
✦ Personal first aid kit
✦ Cup (no disposable cups at aid stations)
✦ Emergency food supply
MAGOEBAS ULTRA 60KM
MU60 Compulsory Gear
The MU60 takes runners through 60km of challenging forest and mountain terrain. All of the following items must be carried throughout the race:

Important Notice
Race organisers reserve the right to add additional compulsory gear items based on weather conditions. Any changes will be communicated at registration and via the official race channels. Failure to carry compulsory gear may result in penalties and/or disqualification.
