The 45 KM race at The Hi-Tec Magoebas Ultra, is the ideal race for someone that wants to transition to ultra distances. It is a fantastic distance and will keep you busy for a large part of the day, but you should still be able to enjoy the rest of your weekend without too much stiffness and sore legs…

With close to  2 500 meters of vertical gain over 45 kilometers, this race is still a proper challenge to any trail runner.

The best way to describe this race is that it is a race of two halves. For the first 17 kilometers, you will mostly be climbing and it will be difficult to get into any sort of running rhythm. It is only after 17 kilometers that you will be able to free the legs and pick up the pace.
